Interior designers plan, design, and detail elements of interior space. Our Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Interior Design emphasizes a three-dimensional approach to creating humane, enabling, and ecologically sensitive interior environments for living, working, and recreation. The program is singled out for its emphasis on concept generation and creative problem solving.
Within this professional, architecturally oriented program, students learn to design interiors for residential, commercial, public, and special purpose uses. They will develop computer-aided design techniques and presentation expertise. At the upper levels, projects involve working for actual community and corporate organizations. Art and design studio electives enhance the student’s ability to think creatively.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree requires full time attendance for three years including a two months practical experience. A total of 105 credits are required. Computer Aided Design, Furniture Design, Islamic Design, Studio Arts, and Photography are alternative elective areas that can be undertaken as minors within the program (Refer to section 9 on Minors).
